New Music / Kinkai: Mellow Mermaids and Malibu

A late contender for one of my albums of the year has just dropped. Kinkai has been bubbling for a little while now, and reflecting the mermaids of its title (at least in my mind!) the album envelops you in warm murkiness, dark soulful sounds and reflective wordplay with hooks. Despite production coming from the various capable hands of Moo Latte, glue70 and Origamik, the whole project sounds vibrantly consistent. The excellent Meron T and the about-to-explode [K S R] lend their vocals too.

Also check Kinkai’s previous EP, Distortions.

Treat yourself and listen on Spotify, buy on Bandcamp or iTunes.
