On Wax / Aim x Mikey D.O.N. are MAIDM: Tun Up Di Heat
Krispy 3 veteran Mikey D.O.N. has joined forces with modern age legend Aim to form MAIDM – their debut single is a 10″ grape juice piece of wax on Aim’s label Atic Records.
The double-header is a bit special too, as it’s been too long since we’ve heard this calibre of in-your-face UK hip hop. Tun Up Di Heat (Party Banger) does what it says on the tin as a mission statement for the duo, already proving itself as a jump up live anthem. B-Boy Shit is a rolling attack from Mikey with banging minimalist production from Aim.
The two first met in Aim’s Barrow studio when Mikey came over to record vocals for Crowhead’s album, Born With Teeth (Brand New was the track, and you might know Crowhead as Red Laser Records’ Il Bosco). Years in the making, their debut album will drop in 2018, preceded by a second 10″.
