Band on the Wall have been kind enough to offer two free guest list places to Groovement fam this coming Thursday…
To win, just email [email protected] with the name of the artist whose work is used on the first two Hidden Orchestra album covers. Hint: read the Groovement interview with the band from last year! WINNERS NOTIFIED BY EMAIL WEDNESDAY NIGHT.
Hidden Orchestra are one of the most intense and cinematic live experiences going, descendants of those first electronic pioneers coupled with a backwash of jazz, hip hop and modern ‘electronica’. While on record Hidden Orchestra is the solo project of soundscape artist/producer Joe Acheson, the live version is centred around a duelling duet of drummers kitted out with percussion and trigger pads, plus the violin/piano of Poppy Ackroyd topped off with Acheson’s bass and electronics. Two albums deep courtesy of Tru Thoughts and in the midst of forming the third, catching them live is a unique experience and one that deserves to be heard on one of the best sound systems in the city. This show is extra special, showcasing new live material and a collaboration with visual artist Lumen. Support comes from Mind On Fire DJs.
