Manchester: Fallowfield Street Fair Monday 26 August ft Golden Egg, food and fun
Once upon a time, James Defty of the UK’s finest hip hop crew The Mouse Outfit and myself got out of a cab on Landcross Road in Fallowfield to head back to a supposed party at his crib. Unfortunately the whole street had been cordoned off by police owing to the huge soundsystem parked up above his bay windows, next to his bedroom. “But I live here! I’m in The Mouse Outfit,” fell on deaf ears. Eventually a few people charged the police line and all hell broke loose with TAU units, shouty 5-O and barking police dogs. It went down in myth as the Landcross Road Street Party.
This will be a much sunnier and totally legal affair, where Landcross will be ‘full with goods of all varities and from all the corners of the world, music played, food served and fun had for the whole community’. Our pals Golden Egg are representing the hip hop quotient.
