Perfectly pairing magical visuals with underground music, Portals is a treat for eyes and ears from all walks of life.

Taking over Islington Mill for one night in June, the event brings together live musicians and visual artists for a true departure from the Saturday night norm. Portals is the vision of a group of Manchester artists, combining an impressive live music line-up with an array of great art…

Fresh from recording free download Undead, Fingathing’s Peter Parker and Chris Drury perform an exclusive show. Drury’s dark comic-book visuals accompany Parker’s heavy beats and eerie samples for a unique set of spinning, scratching and sketching.

All the way from the Lake District, Seven Seals bring their art rock into the urban abyss. Expect electronic sounds backed by their very own wondrous Cumbrian visuals.

Mixing live vocals with guitar playing, samplers and a loop machine, acclaimed Denis Jones and The Pickpocket Network deliver a dazzling live show. With the addition of specially-produced visuals, their Portals set will be nothing short of spellbinding.

Other musicians in on the Portals act include burgeoning Manchester band Age of Glass and acoustic artist Found Object. The Time Burglar DJs will steal away the last hours of the night with an eclectic mix of irresistible beats and breaks. As well as non-stop music and visuals, over 20 artists will display their interpretation of the word ‘portals’ with installations, photos, projections and posters all filling the walls of the Mill.

Head to the Portals page on Facebook and submit your portals-related work for a chance to have it included in the exhibition. You’ll have too have eyes in the back of your head to notice all the Art-holes. Step into the art / sound aperture for an evening of mesmerising sights, music and moments.
