Soundcrash welcomes Daedelus back to London on the back of his debut album for Anticon, Drown Out – it’s limited capacity down at the Birthdays basement in Dalston. If you’ve never witnessed him in the flesh working magic on his Monome, now would be a good time.

Two heavyweights come to Camden on Saturday April 20 as Soundcrash presents Clark + Daedelus for one night only. Hosting a jaw-dropping lineup headlined by two of the most groundbreaking and innovative names in live electronica, Soundcrash serves up another essential night of music – and tickets are on sale now.
No stranger to Soundcrash or KOKO is Warp Records mainstay Clark. From his debut album ‘Clarence Park’ through to the recent ‘Fantasm Planes’ EP, Clark experiments within the regions of electronica and his live analogue show is rated as one of the most captivating and infectious.
Returning to London for his first live show since April 2012, Daedelus brings Archimedes back to the KOKO stage. Imagined by Daedelus, created with the expertise of Emmanuel Biard and David Leonard, Archimedes is an impressive bespoke mechanised wall of moving mirrors that moves in time with Daedelus’ deft sound manipulations to compliment and add to his legendary Monome sets.
Soundcrash favorites Hidden Orchestra, whose mesmerising live show has seen them gain a rapidly expanding fanbase across Europe and further afield, join the fun, as does Kelpe, whose barnstorming releases on the likes of DC Recordings, Black Acre and Svetlana Industries, plus a live show that has found him sharing stages with Aphex Twin, Squarepusher and once again this evening Daedelus, make him the perfect addition to an already powerful lineup.

Second 45 on the label from Om Unit this time it‟s a LDN x LA excursion with the industrious UK producer taking on 2 tracks from our LA series of ten inches. Starting off down in Venice its Daedelus„s “Vous Etes Stereo” from LA Series #6 that gets sci-flipped into some Ridley Scott-esque territory and on the flip side we go uptown Hollywood stylin with Sa Ra‟s Om‟Mas Keith‟s vocal from the final ten of the series – number 11 – getting a reworking with bass heavy vibes on “Girl is a Player”.
Tracklist:A: Om’mas Keith – Girl is a player (Om Unit remix)
B: Daedelus – Vous Ites Stereo
On Friday 8th June Red Bull Music Academy joins forces with cutting-edge London club series FOUND to bring together some of the most forward-thinking minds in progressive electronic music for a very special showcase at Vauxhall’s Hidden!
RBMA has gained a fierce reputation for uncovering some of the finest up-and-coming talent through their annual music workshops, from Flying Lotus to Hudson Mohawke to Nina Kraviz. Showcasing artists as varied as Major Lazer, Erykah Badu and DJ Harvey, the Academy also regularly hosts arenas at some of the best festivals in the world, including Sónar, Movement, Mutek, and the Montreux Jazz Festival.
Heading the bill is LA beatsmith Daedelus. With a string of releases on Plug Research, Hefty, Alpha Pup, and most recently Ninja Tune, Daedelus has refined a style that has no imitators. Crafting forward thinking electronic sounds with playful arrangements, fusing influences from house, electronica and hip-hop, having collaborated with the likes of Busdriver, MF Doom and TTC to create a sound that is entirely unique. As one of the first artists to pioneer the Monome, along with custom designed software into his live sets, Daedelus has amazed audiences the world-over and firmly cemented his reputation as one of the most exciting producers in electronic music.
Joining Daedelus is Austrian producer and Red Bull Music Academy graduate, Dorian Concept, interested in exploring the interface between digital and analogue, musical performance, and improvisation. His productions range from experimental electronic sounds to hip-hop, funk and jazz, with off-the-cuff improvisations and quirky keyboard breakdowns mixed with scattered drums and piercing synth-laced hooks. His recent releases on Ninja Tune, Kindred Spirits and Vienna’s Affine label have gained hefty support from the likes of Gilles Peterson, Mary Anne Hobbs and Benji B.
Producer Cooly G describes her sound as ‘deep house tribal dubstep’. Putting together abstract post-garage beats that shuffle into life dubbed out with her own cut- up vocal snippets. Her debut ‘Narst / Love Dub’ EP released on Hyperdub was met with rapturous excitement, earning her ‘Single Of The Week’ in The Guardian and ‘One To Watch’ in The Independent.
Having recently created waves of excitement, another alumnus of the Red Bull Music Academy steps-up to complete the line-up: former Rinse FM host: Braiden. Celebrated for blowing up dubstep’s limitations with his inventive selection and super-tight, technical mixing, Braiden has become a staple on London’s underground circuit. Described by FACT Magazine as “absurdly talented”, he lives up to the hype with a mixing style that thrives on the element of surprise, fusing together house, techno, garage and dubstep and fabricating his vision for the future of London music.
It’s the careful programming, and dynamic collaborations that have earned FOUND a place in the hearts of young clubbers. Having championed the deeper side, FOUND sets out to explore the most intriguing and exciting club sounds, with a focus this time on the evolution of house music and the new techno movements. Don’t miss this very special event! Book now…
