I’m just going to let the press release do the talking for this one:

A potentially once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to witness one of the most influential and important Hip Hop collectives of all time LIVE in concert. These shows will be packed full of underground classics as well as their quintessentially alternative west-coast energy, not to mention some of the best lyricism around, alongside bouncin’, jazz-infused beats and that 90’s golden-age swing.

Celebrating 25 years of 3rd Eye Vision, in conjunction with 50 years of Hip Hop and 30 Years of 93 ’til Infinity, the pioneering collective will come to the UK and Europe in full for the first time ever.

Following the incredible sell-out performances with Souls Of Mischief on their monumental anniversary tour last year – their shows were the talk of Hip Hop in 2023 – this May and June 2024, the Hieroglyphics crew will debut on this side of the water, and it’s tee’d up to be very, very special.

Joined by the hugely popular, yet somewhat elusive platinum recording artist, Del The Funky Homosapien, the tour also becomes a rare opportunity to see a true favourite of alternative rap; rare in that it’s not very  often that Del tours. Not for a lack of demand, quite far from it. But for a oneoff Hiero tour and debut… that’s something he can mess with.

Whether it’s working with Damon Albarn on Gorillaz ‘Clint Eastwood’ and ‘Rock The House’, or taking us on the lyrical adventures of Deltron 3030, the ‘Mistadobalina’ rapper remains top class in all that he touches.

Founded by Del in the early 90’s, Hieroglyphics have been cited as huge influences by a plethora of heavy-weight artists. From Q-Tip and A Tribe Called Quest, to The Roots, Andre 3000, Eminem, Kanye West, Wu-Tang, De La Soul, Mos Def and more.

Casual, one of the founding members of the collective, played a key part from inception. The rapper’s impeccable style and introspection led to the second solo album release of ‘Fear Itself’ – a commercially under-rated gem of an album that has stood the test of time – remains one of the best underground albums around. What Casual and Domino do on ‘Follow The Funk’ , and beyond, is incredible.

Considered to be some of the most highly skilled lyricists in rap from their inception to today, the Hiero crew broke Hip Hop norms with personal, emotional rhymes, off on their own vibration, rather than solely gangster-rap.

Souls Of Mischief’s ’93 ‘til Infinity’ remains one of the most respected and well-known Hip Hop classics of all time, referred to in pop culture time and time again. 93 ‘til Infinity was certified GOLD by the RIAA, and after touring the world with more than 120 shows in 12-months – the majority of which sold out – it is clear that the group now reach far beyond the old-school, and their popularity has grown far deeper with the world of streaming. Alongside Del, they are many peoples true introduction to Hip Hop. Their third-eye logo, designed by Del, was ranked as the 3rd most recognisable music logo by Rolling Stone Magazine, and it is not uncommon for fans to show Hiero members their third eye logo tattoos.

Praised by critics and fans alike for their unique sound and positive, introspective message, they became internationally known as the leaders of a new movement in rap that represented peace and unity, despite having come from a city rife with violent crime.

Since inception, the Hiero team has been thriving in the hip-hop world, from limited edition merchandise to releasing a number of projects within Hiero Imperium Records, founded in 1997, branching out for collaborations with the likes of Jurassic 5, George Clinton, Dilated Peoples, Q-Tip, Snoop Dog, Xzibit and more.
