New HIT+RUN releases from Tehbis and Joseph Scaturro
Two dope new releases are forthcoming in August, on limited cassettes no less, from the boundary-pushing LA label. Both are pre-orderable now on Bandcamp.
The first is from North London’s Tehbis who counts Kutmah and Gilles Peterson amongst his fans. His debut EP proper, this is called Tales of Gengi and includes tracks produced over the last two years. Windward Stomp and Stay were both created during Tehbis’ time in Holy Mount Washington, Northeast Los Angeles. Seven Davis Jr features on Stay, and beatmaker Trampoline Tax guests on Skittlebullet Holes. It’s out August 3rd.

The second release is the truly beautiful sound of Joseph Scaturro. I’ve just played Fallin’ By The Waist three times in a row after hearing it for the first time. Joseph is a multi-instrumentalist singer/songwriter, raised in Iowa and living in LA. Trigger is his debut EP, a kaleidoscoped look at relationships. Release is 18th August.
