Gorilla has a fair few hip hop gigs kicking off 2014, rightly cementing them as one of Manchester’s finest venues.

Angel Haze made the headlines in December last year – frustrated at her label’s decision to push new LP Dirty Gold back to March, she leaked the album on Soundcloud, resulting in a late December official release. This no bullshit and impulsive behaviour is to be applauded. Forbidden from embracing music until the age of 16, Angel’s delivery is urgent, and it will be interesting to see how huge she blows up this year.
