Interview: CHRIS READ (Music of Subtance / Classic Material / BBE) x THIRSTY EAR
CHRIS READ has just put together the BBE anniversary compilation entitled “15 Years of Real Music for Real People”, following his winning Mixcloud entry for their Beat Generation mix competition.
I first came across his work upon the release of The Diary, a ridiculous megamix of 800 rap tracks in 80-odd minutes, a year-by-year account of hip hop’s history.
Find out more about the Diary and its descendent, the Classic Material club night, in this interview, plus thoughts on the new BBE work and plans for the future.
Keep track of his work over at Music of Substance.
Shouts to the punter 20 minutes in who interrupted us to demand to know if we were really doing an interview. I kept that bit in, sorry.
