Steeped in both the modern vintage of Daptone and Truth & Soul, plus the legacies of the likes of David Axelrod and Isaac Hayes, Coborg, Victoria’s Surprise Chef unfold themselves in layers of cinematic soul.

Their debut, All News Is Good News, is right up there soul and quality-wise with the labels I mentioned above, and its sequel, Daylight Savings, is imminent (vinyl’s limited to 500 on Mr Bongo, wax fans). Here are the first two drops from it.
