Lone – Reality Testing
I’ve not really had time to write something this week to do this album justice – suffice to say I ran out to grab the LP upon release, and haven’t been disappointed. As well as probably making banging instrumental hip hop fashionable again for the hip-heads, Lone effortlessly transcends genres to produce a collection of sounds that are unmistakably him. The hip hop flavours are my favourite tracks, but rest assured styles fluctuate well. Tempos might differ, but the soul remains consistent throughout. Grab it on yellow vinyl while you still can.
