Repost @akse_p19 : In the 1860’s Manchester, known as Cottonopolis, imported up to 3/4 of all cotton grown on southern US plantations; but millworkers refused, at great personal sacrifice, to touch raw cotton picked by US slaves despite facing starvation and destitution in order to support President Lincoln’s embargo. Lincoln acknowledged the self-sacrifice of the working men of Manchester in a letter he sent in 1863. Black Lives Matter. Manchester will always show its support against injustice. 😍😍😍 Repost from @habibifunk —— VARIOUS ARABIC RECORD LABEL SLEEVES: Company Sleeves are sleeves that record companies used for releases that did not have their own cover artwork (الترجمة العربية أسفله), or in some instances they were used for repressing of titles where the first pressing had a cover but the consecutive repressing did not. They served as prominent advertisement for the releasing company while saving costs for artworks and printing costs due to bigger amount of sleeves printed. A lot of them came with incredible designs, here is a selection of company sleeves of labels from Morocco (Boussiphne & Disque Fan El Hayat), Egypt (Sono Cairo) and Lebanon (Morico Records).
