THOM YORKE has increasingly figured in the beat scene the last couple of years and obviously, before Kid A even came out, has flirted with experimentalism and soundscapes. The first time I saw a Kaoss pad in action it was Radiohead doing it. Radiohead.com has also held a fondness in our hearts for posting tracks by DANNY DRIVE THRU and ILLUM SPHERE in their regular charts. Thom also presented FLYING LOTUS with the Best Live Session award at Gilles Peterson’s Worldwide Awards last month (a category in which MATTHEW HALSALL was also nominated).
