RADIO TRIP podcast (The Apples)

Absolute superstars and perfect gentlemen, that’s Radio Trip for you. Groovement and the Apples hit it off good, so when Mixmonster and Schoolmaster said they were staying behind to do some DJ gigs while the rest of the band flew home, I jumped at the chance to get them on the show.

Radio Trip was around before the Apples were, and since the band has taken off so well, Radio Trip has sort of been left on the backburner – or so I thought. The boys introduced me to a thriving Tel Aviv scene bubbling around the Audio Montage Entertainment label – artists like the Koliphones, UBK and the Ramirez Brothers (have a look in the top friends at the MySpace) and associated labels like MPM (Germany’s Melting Pot Music e.g. Kutiman) and Jalapeno Records (London), on which the new Radio Trip EP has been released.

What struck me most about these two was the passion oozing from their pores… more than content to endure road trips across the UK slinging their wax around for the sake of playing a gig – that’s what it was all about: sharing the music.
