Reach: FAT CITY RECORDS WEBSITE LAUNCH // London Friday 1 June

Back when the Fat City record shop in Manchester was open for business, we locals of the vinyl buying persuasion had little need to peruse their website aside from to have a gander at the new releases. This was a different story for those outside of the city, as mailbags going out with the postie at night were ridiculously hefty.

The website served its purpose and was definitely due for a revamp… times they had a-changed and mail order/direct download sites such as Boomkat, Juno and Bleep were becoming the mainstays of people’s record/mp3 buying habits.

Yet Fat City was about to up and move down to the capital, and with that a new owner in the form of Jazzman Gerald. As the dust from the move settled plans were set afoot to relaunch the website, and manager Orsi and I even sat down over pizza to chat about it, and she unveiled unto me only the tip of the iceberg – believe me, a LOT of thought and passion has gone into this redesign.

 

And finally, it’s here. Incorporating a cleaner and yes, more modern look, the Fat City website’s about to relaunch and they’re throwing a party to celebrate.

Featured guest label DJs are Jazzman Gerald (Jazzman Records), Chris Read (Music Of Substance), Hint (Tru Thoughts), TomE (Laid Back) and Fat City’s very own Orsii.
