UNITY RADIO 92.8FM // MANCHESTER

Unity Radio was the home of Groovement and where it started.

Unity Radio has been running a fair few years, initially as a community radio station on the internet. In August 2010 Unity Radio finally went live on the FM airwaves in Manchester, whilst maintaining its online presence at UnityRadio.fm. The station seeks to reflect popular trends and embrace musical cultures not currently served by radio in Greater Manchester.

Founded on big beats and bigger basslines, Unity straddles everything from 70s reggae to dubstep.

Groovement’s role in Unity was a weekly show, broadcast on Sundays 3 ’til 5pm GMT. Check out the fine roster of shows across the week by looking at the schedule on the site, including shows from C’mon Feet, Mikey DON, Universal Language and many more.

Back in 1999 the Lancaster airwaves were assaulted with some actual good music. Phantom 107 launched the radio and DJ career of Agent J and what would come to be Groovement many years later.  Shout to the Phantom, wherever you are now.
