On Wax / Apollo Brown x Ghostface: The Brown Tape (12 Reasons To Die) reissued

A few years back, Adrian Younge orchestrated an album for Ghostface Killah called Twelve Reasons To Die. The supernatural gangster story was conceived by Younge and Venice Dawn musician CE Garcia, and saw release on RZA’s Soul Temple label. Packaged with the special edition bundle was Apollo Brown’s alternate version of the album, solely produced by him and manufactured on cassette tape. Here’s my copy:

Read a little more about it in this article I wrote for Bonafide magazine, including a chat with Ghost.

A few months later, Soul Temple bowed (monk-like?) to demand and reissued Apollo Brown’s version digitally, on CD and vinyl with this art:

Skip forward to now and Mello Music Group have acquired the rights to push the album out on CD, digital and vinyl (not cassette yet, though this may changed as MMG does release on this format too), this time known simply as The Brown Tape and with new cover art from David Murdoch. It’s a banger… have a listen below.
