LAUNCH NIGHT

Wednesday 4th September 7pm – 10pm

Our pal Manchester based photographer Ness Cohen will see images from her photobook ’The Writing’s On The Wall’ hit Terrace bar in the Northern Quarter from Wednesday 8th September 2013, documenting urban art in the streets of the city.

This will be the launch night with a silent auction on for the duration (both on line and in the bar), with a variety of items up for grabs including a ‘photography tutorial experience’, a ‘how to’ on street art, signed prints, graff pieces and charity items (such as multiple hot meals for the homeless).

Auction proceeds will be going to the Mustard Tree charity, who have been working for the homeless of Manchester since 1994. This money will help fund a range of projects focused on improving skills, encouraging social interaction, tackling some of the personal root causes of destructive behaviour, as well as supplying essential life support to the homeless in the forms of food, clothing and training.

There’ll also be a raffle on the launch night with a chance to win signed prints and graffiti pieces. Local street artist Russ Meehan will be on hand during the opening night painting live, and this will be auctioned off too.

The exhibition will run for eight weeks and can be found on Facebook. Terrace is here. Check Ness’ blog here. Music on the night will be supplied by Terrace resident DJs.
