Having just celebrated his 71st birthday he has not let that slow him down one bit in his sheer enthusiasm and love for searching for new music and appreciating the ones he’s found. Martin Barnfather, better known as Soul Sam, is a living legend on the rare soul & funk scene. Having reached the honorable age of seventy one this year, he’s still uncovering new music and one of the hardest working men on the scene. He has seen and helped the soul and funk scenes evolve almost since day one and has also been an influential source of opinion since the 70’s due to articles wrote for magazines such as Blues & Soul. He’s been a revered Dj for more than forty years, having discovered an enormous quantity of records and being one of the most influential forces behind the acceptance of modern soul among northern soul fans. You will hear the truly rarest of the rare soul & funk music and often from single press acetate studio recordings.Your in for a treat and has only happened as he has this weekend off from a very tight schedule of playing across the UK and Europe.
