YOSI HORIKAWA signs to First Word Records
Brilliant news from the First Word camp this afternoon (but seemingly old news that I’ve missed out on as the Soundcloud player is 8 days old!). I’ve been a fan of this gentleman’s music for a good while.

As promised we have another new signing to introduce to you this week. Yosi Horikawa is a Japanese producer whose music truly deserves the adjective original. Born in Osaka, Yosi first started making music at age 12, recording in his bedroom using his voice and various found and made sounds – tapping on the side of his bed soon became a kick drum for example. Overdubbing across two tape decks, Yosi started on his own musical journey in a DIY style that continues to define him today.
A recent graduate of the Red Bull Music Academy in Madrid, he has collaborated with the likes of Dorien Concept and earned praise from BBC Radio 1’s Benji B.
