The final album / Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings: Soul Of A Woman

So here it is. I was playing a gig with Neal Sugarman (head honcho of Daptone Records) at the back end of July when he mentioned there was a final Sharon album in the works. Later that night, he hooked his phone up to my mixer and we listened to tracks in the empty bar. Emotionally raw, soulfully spectacular and stunningly resonant, these final tracks from Sharon with her Dap-Kings will have you smiling with joy and shedding a tear to go with it.
