If I know C E Garcia’s tastes well enough, Starkiller is named for Luke Sywalker’s original moniker as Star Wars was being conceived by George Lucas. A musician with a taste for great counter culture, Garcia has teamed with fellow Venice Dawn (Adrian Younge’s crew) member Alfredo E Fratti to form this new production outfit: think the vintage sounds of Adrian Younge expanded to a sci fi landscape.

The duo have hooked up across the ocean with the illustrious Harleighblu to release their debut work, the album Amorine, on Brighton’s Tru Thoughts label. Solidifying the sci-fi side of things further, British comics artist Boo Cook (known for his work on 200AD, Elephantmen and Titan’s Doctor Who series amongst many other projects) lends his distinctive style to the cover. Garcia was majorly influenced by Moebius’ The Incal and early George Lucas effort THX 1138 for the dystopian narrative he created for the album.

Expect videos to enhance the project imminently, and look out for an interview with Garcia on Groovement soon. Scroll down to hear Listen To My Heart.
