From Birmingham but currently residing in Manchester, Lay. (Layfullstop) recently wowed heads not only locally when Kendrick Lamar bobbed into a workshop she was taking part in, but also as a quarter of Cul De Sac and their killer single, Know We Now.
Aura is five minutes of deep, soulful lyricism to lose yourself in, with warm and cushy production from King Burga. It’s blatant from this that Lay is all about the journey, not the quick musical fix, and I’m ready to listen to much more so hopefully that’s on its way.
Check Groovement’s Cul De Sac interview here, and look for much more from them in the second half of this year and beyond. Read about their recent performance with the Heritage Orchestra here, and be sure that the name is Lay not Ladyfullstop as incorrectly mentioned in the article!
