Alice Russell returns both to our ears and the label that brought her to the world, Tru Thoughts. One of the most enjoyable live acts around, Alice is equally at home fronting massive bands or a stripped down six-piece, always having the crowd eating out of the palm of her hand. She’s on BBC 6Music this Monday coming with Craig Charles (who’s sitting in on lunchtime duties) and I’ll be catching up with her afterwards for a Groovement interview, so keep an eye out for that here next week.

Longtime Alice fan Harry Shearer (yes the voice of Lovejoy, Flanders, Burns, Smithers, Kent Brockman and many more) goes feminine in the video for the new single, Heartbreaker. The single features the genius move of a FaltyDL remix, plus a rework from Yakine and an acoustic rendition.
