First off … a new name!
From now on, I will be known simply as “Essa“… OK that’s not exactly a new name for those of you that know me well, but don’t watch that! The important thing is, I’m Yungun no more …
With a new(ish!) name comes new music. I am delighted to present the first ever release by Essa -Time For Something New
Released 5 November on First Word Records, it features some incredible producers and guest artists, including Wu-Tang Clan’s Inspectah Deck, UK Hip-Hop legend Skinny Man, Detroit don Waajeed / Jeedo (Slum Village / PPP), Simbad (Gilles Peterson Worldwide Family), Finn Peters (Bansuri / Accidental Records) and Hyperdub rising stars LV, amongst others.
