Focus: DEATH WALTZ RECORDING COMPANY

Vinyl’s not just for Hallowe’en

We’ve featured the mighty Death Waltz Recording Company on Groovement before (thanks to contributor J’adore) but I thought today was a particularly suitable one to bring some more attention their way. Spencer Hickman’s label is a purveyor of the highest quality cult soundtrack releases on vinyl, some for the first time. All are commissioned with brand new artwork and the colours of the vinyl are never random. Music released on the label is remastered for vinyl, sometimes by the original composer themselves (hello, Alan Howarth). Now Spencer is dedicating his full timetable to the label (he’s in his last week at Rough Trade right now) we can look forward to a tongue-tingling 2013 of limited releases.

They put out a very limited Halloween III flexi-disc today that just completely sold out, so you can’t have that, but check out their full releases below. Find out much, much more about the label in this great Juno interview with Spencer here.
