Diatribe & The Crimson Underground (Padded Chamber Recordings)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zeXZUbgM-BY

DTCU bring their Information Age album launch to the Unity Radio Bassment, Manchester. Danny Diatribe is Irish born, Manchester based MC Danny Lynch. He has teamed with Irish electronic producer Garvan McCann, to bring you the sounds of Diatribe and The Crimson Underground. Having supported artists such as Jazzsteppa, Luke Vibert and Boxcutter; Diatribe brings his unique, flow based brand of socially aware lyricism and weaves it trough the sounds of innovative, non carbon copy, thought provoking electronic music, often with an off-the-wall abstract Hip Hop groove and arrangement. The Crimson Underground, a 90’s rave veteran, fuses different elements of sub-culture music. His non genre specific style of production is as intriguing as it is engaging and highlights his retro-futuristic approach to production were anything goes. Early comparisons have been made to artists such as Tipper and Danny Breaks. Both artists combine using vintage analog and digital live. Armed with a microphone and various hardware, DTCU’s live show is not to be missed!!

wAgAwAgA ( Acroplane Recordings, Immigrant Recordings )
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tZf10_kNEJ4

Bristol based wAgAwAgA has a large catalogue of music that explores a wide variety of genres; the sounds of cavernous dub, swaggering acid, and skittering jungle. All of his music nonetheless comes together very easily under his “sound”, mostly defined by his obscenely tight grooves and natural sense of evolution. At his gigs. he has taken to performing his work in a more “live” context, improvising and mashing together loops on the fly. Some of his work has included highly-praised releases on Acroplane, Immigrant Recordings, and Record Label Records.

Hurtdeer ( Acorplane Recordings, Broken Bubble, Circutree Recordings)

Hurtdeers music comes from all sorts of influences, taking aboard the compulsive rhythm layers of breakcore, the heavy weight of bass music, and the psychedelic hypnotism of 4/4. Also based in Bristol, he describes a lot of his stuff as “dubfunk”, and kind of goes all over the place, linking it all together by more of what he calls “the Hurtdeer sound” It’s rhythmically complicated and completely danceable. Hurtdeer has had a lot of good people help him, with releases with Acroplane, Broken Bubble, and Circuitree Records, and support from Wonk#ay Records and Bristols Jungle Syndicate.

Deadsound and videohead ( Perc Trax )

Last Summer Dead Sound and Video Head dropped their fist collaborative E.P. on Perc Trax. ‘The Chosen’ a slammin collection of broken beat techno was followed by their ‘Pench’ release on Acroplane. This year the mysterious duo release their ‘murder’ ep again on Perc Trax. Having had comparisons to the likes of Surgeon, the stoke crew bring their self proclaimed ‘ Industrial war funk punk’ to the Bassment to tear it the f*%k down.

Gbo b2b Muzone ( Drum Clinic, Acroplane Recordings, A Shocking Hobby)

Gerry ‘gbo’ Mc Allister has been playing around Belfast’s most infamous electronica clubs over the last decade joining guests as varied as Rob Hall, Boxcutter, Tech Itch, Glenn Wilson & Shitmat. But more recently has built an allegiance with Belfast promoter & label head honcho Paul ‘Acroplane’ Moore. “Playing for the likes of Paul means I can get away with being an absolute bollocks and throw down extreme acid, breakbeats, kickdrums, snares and be safe in the knowledge that it’s still a job well done”. He will go back to back with Drum Clinic’s own Muzone, back from his Central American venture. Both DJs run the highly acclaimed ‘A Shocking Hobby’ website respectively.
